day 77 Clinton, MT zero miles

Spent a great day with Bud and Ann. Took a ride in their car to Flathead Lake and checked out the impressive Mission Mts. Found some delicious cherries at a roadside stand but the famed huckleberries managed to elude us.

After the best home-cooked meal we've had in months, Ann's awesome breaded elk steaks, Bud and I tinkered with his hay baler's knotter while Stephanie and Ann got their fill of Hallmark movies on the tube. Bud and I enjoyed one last beer out on the lawn, while watching the evening shadows climb up the mts. across the valley. We had some great conversation with them over the past two days, from farming to logging and hunting and fishing. It was wonderful to feel so much at home!

  1. Between the bears and the escaped killers, you two got out of Yellowstone just in the nick of time.
