day 60, Rawlins, WY 0 miles





Relaxing at the KOA today, checked over the bike, now rocking on a porch swing in the shade, with that cursed headwind rocking us back and forth. It can blow all it wants today!

I want to thank everyone for wishing me a happy birthday yesterday, 52nd in case anybody's counting.

We're in the Noth Platte River valley now, main thoroughfare for many of the historic trails of westward migration. Yesterday we passed the Overland Trail, used in the 1860's. Looked like it was still being used by the local ranchers with thheir Turbocharged Conastoga wagons.

    Hey guys, only made it as far as Rawlins today. Worst day yet. The headwind was a nightmare and then got puncture at Sinclair. Patched it but wouldn't hold the pressure, then the valve came out when trying to pump it again. Spare tubes wouldn't fit either. Then bike fell over and cracked my helmet the whole way through. Arrrgggghhh.

    I'll see ye on the road tomorrow.

    Happy belated birthday! You guys are doing great - keep up the good work. Just got back from a few days at the beach with Denise, Sarina, and Denise's parents. It was terribly hazy, hot, and humid but we all had a good time. Look out for ornery bison when you get to Yellowstone.
