day 58, Saratoga, WYOMING! 70 miles (2655 total)

After a great breakfast at the Moose Creek Cafe, we rolled out of Walden under cloudy skies with cool temps. We were at the Wyoming border in no time, thanks to a gentle tail wind and easy grades.

Soon the sun came out, and we shed a layer. Our views included the beautiful Snowy Mountain Range to the east and an endless horizon to the north. Unfortunately, there are large tracts of dead pines, victims of some invasive beetle. The Forest service is conducting salvage logging of these forests, which at least is helping the local economy (judging by the # of logging trucks we've seen).

After a nice lunch at the "Bear Trap" Cafe in Riverside (our intended stop for the night), Derek encouraged us to go an additional 18 miles to Saratoga, where we are again sharing a hotel room, and feasting on pepperoni pizza!

And for those of you keeping track, we endured our 3rd flat tire today.
