Back on the road, the countryside turned into a checkerboard of corn, soybean, and wheat fields, diced up by roads at right angles at every mile. The tailwind continued, and in no time (by high-noon) we arrived in Pittsburg - our shortest day timewise by far! As I type this, it's mid-afternoon and the American flag outside the Lamplighter Inn (our highly recommended accomodations - ie.pool) is whipping steady towards the west. It's almost a crime to waste it..........but we need our rest! Tomorrow's another day, and our weather expert Lynn claims it will be there for a couple more days to push us westward!
We love Kansas! It's flat! And Stephanie can't wait for me to drag her through all the barb-wire museums on the prairie!
Hi Steph and Mike - seems like we saw you just yesterday and now you've traveled over 1500 miles. You all make it look easy!

I am living vicariously through your adventure. I bet I am not alone! Love the sunburn racing stripes on your brain. Continued safe travels...and have fun!
