Day 36 Marshfield, MO 67 miles

Much less humid and slightly cooler conditions made for a much more enjoyable day. The rolling hills continued through beef and horse ranches. We also passed some Amish farmers harvesting wheat with a horse drawn reaper - binder.
We also met two young men from Sweden who were traveling east [from SF] They had lots of questions for us about dogs, coal trucks and hills.
Tonight we are staying in the city park, complete with swimming pool, bathroom, showers and very loud insects buzzing in the trees. Glad we have earplugs.

  1. OK, Kansas is up next. A worthy detour might be Hays, Kansas, home to RANS bicycle. It's 25 miles north of your route from Rush Center(take US 183 north). They have tours on weekdays and they recommend calling a day ahead: 785-625-6346. Maybe you can try out one of their cushy tandem recumbents. Hope your staying cool, we're on our way to Seattle tomorrow. We'll talk with you soon.
