Day 29, Vienna, IL 51 miles

Another scorcher. We were out of the campground by 7 am to beat the heat (although it never really cooled off much during the night). After a great breakfast at the local diner, we rolled along the Ohio River to Golconda, where we rehydrated with chocolate milk. The owner was kind enough to supply free ice to refill our water bottles (people everywhere have been so gracious!) and we headed back out in the heat, this time turning due west towards Vienna, passing a beautiful Cypress swamp and some Amish farms. After a rest stop at a chocolate factory where we sampled (you guessed it) chocolate, ( we ordered the cooler treat, ice cream!) it was a relatively short finish into Vienna where we quickly found a motel with a POOL!
