Not a great day off. I did laundry while Mike was working on the bike. I got back to the room to find a note from Mike saying he was hitch-hiking to the bike shop to get parts needed. The shop was 80 miles back in Damascus, he got there after several rides to find out that they didn't have a cassette hub. But was sold a brand new wheel - after paying a guy named crazy horse $100 to bring him back to Breaks. The axle on the new wheel is too short. Try again tomorrow.
Good luck with the wheel. We are all rooting for you. Love Eric, Jean-Luc, Harry, Mike Frangakis (and all the gang back in Oregon too).
ReplyDeleteIf only it was JUST the daunting tasK of all that pedaling! We're pulling for you guys, Crostata awaits your arrival in Booneville! Shipped fresh last Thursday...Love, the Deerfield branch...
ReplyDeleteHang in there you two. Mike, remember the broken links on the barn cleaner, when the baler wouldn't tie, a down cow or twisted calving. You can handle these little problems. Take your time. Wish you better traveling in days to come. Watch out for guys named crazy horse.

Sorry to hear about the frustrations you encountered today but hang in there !!! The road ahead will hold unforeseen pleasures (and some more trials). However, you are embarked on a great adventure - all the challenges are worth it.
