Short day today, the head winds were really strong. After 24 miles we had it and stopped at a hostel that the historical society sponsored. Hot showers and a kitchen that we made dinner in. Met Brian and Allen going east using a hand pedaled bike for the disabled. Allen has lost the use of his legs and has a disease that is rare- yet his positive attitude and contageous sense of humor is inspirational. He is raising money for disabled athetes (www.fromheretothere2010.com). Brian is driving the van for support Allen. Stayed up late talking and getting tips on our route westward.
