DAY 1- Yorktown,Va

Ready to start, sky looks gloomy. We're starting with the commemorative dipping of the back wheel into the Atlantic (better known here as the York River). Thanks to Andrew for the ride down. Hoping to ride 60 miles today if the weather holds out.

  1. What's the over-under on flat tire count for the trek? I'm going to go with.... 5.

Seriously, good luck my hiking/biking/skiing brother. Looking forward to reading your blogs. -Jeff S.

  3. Good luck ... hope my forecast of tail wind is correct and that you're staying dry. Looks good on the radar only small little showers.

  4. Good luck. We too are Adirondack cyclists with our oldest just graduating from college. He and we will be working in Idaho SW of Missoula, MT this summer. If you go Highway 12 as an alternate route, maybe we'll see you. Look for our VW van with NY plates. We've biked this route from Missoula to Eugene Oregon with kids. Great route, though trucks and RV's are sometimes bad. If you do go that way, stop by on the Selway River at Fenn Ranger station. I work on the fire lookout above there, Coolwater LO. Hurray NCPR.
